creen Printing Inks
In addition to having a rigorous internal quality control department, Rutland uses reputable 3rd party laboratories like Bureau Veritas to thoroughly test select ink products for restricted components.
Rutland® Claira Screen Print Plastisols with product designations CA, C2,
C3, EA, EB, EC, EG, EH, EL, EM, EN, ER, EP, ES, EV, M3, SE, VP, and water base inks identified as EW, RW, WB and WS, are formulated to be Non-Phthalate in compliance with California Assembly 1108, OekoTex 100 and the Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act HR 4040. They have been tested for the following phthalates including di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP): dibutyl phthalate (DBP), benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP), diisononyl phthalate (DINP), diisodecyl phthalate (DIDP), di-n-octyl phthalate (DnOP), (DIBP) Di-iso-butyl, and (DMP) Dimethylphthalat. This also includes all other esters of ortho-phthalic acid), and they have been found to be in compliance with the above standards.
Further, Rutland® Claira Screen Print Plastisols with product designations CA, C2, C3, EA, EB, EC, EG, EH, EL, EM, EN, ER, EP, ES, EV, M3, SE, VP, and water base inks identified as EW, RW, WB and WS, are formulated to be in compliance with the Consumer Products Safety Act, Title 16, Part 1303 regarding lead products and CPSIA HR 4040 regarding lead content. These products have been tested, and they contain less than 0.009% lead as formulated. They are in compliance with the heavy metal provision of ASTM F-963 and EN 71-3:1995 regarding the safety requirements for toys and the specification for migration of certain elements, and their ingredients do not contain Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) or Alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEO) or any polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAK), TBBPA, DecaBDE, or HBCDD.
Rutland® Claira Screen Print Plastisols identified by codes that begin with CA, C2,
C3, EA, EB, EC, EG, EH, EL, EM, EN, ER, EP, ES, EV, M3, SE, VP, and water base inks identified as EW, RW, WB and WS, do not contain any chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity (Proposition 65).

In addition to having a rigorous internal quality control department, Rutland uses reputable 3rd party laboratories like Bureau Veritas to thoroughly test select ink products for restricted components.
Rutland’s Standard Plastisol inks are:
- In compliance with the Consumer Products Safety Act, Title 16, Part 1303 regarding lead products and CPSIA HR 4040 regarding lead content. These products have been tested, and they contain less than 0.009% lead as formulated.
- Formulated to be in compliance with the heavy metal provision of ASTM F-963 and EN 71- 3:1995 regarding the safety requirements for toys and the specification for migration of certain elements.
- Formulated with ingredients that do not contain any Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) or Alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEO) or any polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAK), TBBPA, DecaBDE, or HBCDD.
- Formulated with ingredients that do not contain Latex.
Rutland’s standard plastisol ink series are identified by codes that begin with CB, CS, CP, HG, LX, M2, MC, MA, MG, MH, ML, MO, MP, MS, MV, MW, NA, NC, ND, NG, NH, NM, NP, NT, NU, NX, NC, TC.
