Proper Mixing of Color Boosters

Color Boosters (CB's) are a very high concentration of pigments with binder added to assist in proper fusion of the product when mixed with the Rutland base plastisols.

As the CB's are stored, some small amount of phase separation may occur. Phase separation is defined as liquid on the surface of the plastisol.

This is normal in highly plasticized systems, however, since CB's are highly loaded with pigments, where slight differences could cause color shift, we strongly suggest stirring the Color Boosters completely just before each use or at least once a week. This will keep the pigment strength consistent and allow you to produce more consistent colors.

Stirring can be accomplished by hand in quarts and gallons and by a mechanical mixer for 5-gallon pails. (A turnabout, a drill mixer, etc.)
